Special Notices
This is the latest info, updated 10-Aug-13.
The Mondays Fall 2013 Season will start on 9-Sep-13 and continue for 13 nights through 16-Dec-13. The Wednesdays Fall 2013 Season will start on 11-Sep-13 and continue for 13 nights through 18-Dec-13, skipping 13-Nov-13. This club can accommodate more players than were active last year. The club will continue into the Winter and Spring, but the dates have not been finalized.
This club continues to play Monday and Wednesday nights. Signing up for the season is for one night of the week. If you want to play two nights per week, you should sign up for two seasons. All ability levels are welcome.
Preregistration for the 2013 Fall Season is strongly recommended. Space availability for walk-ins is not guaranteed. There is significant savings for those who preregister or register and pay on the first night. The season consists of 13 nights of play and it costs $98 for an individual, $80 for a student, or $195 for a family. Walk-in rates are $12 for an adult or $20 for a family. Whether there is a different student walk-in rate is not known; check with the Recreation Department for student walk-in rates. Further details, registration, and costs are available at the Carlisle Recreation Web site at:

Now in its 12th year, those persons who come for even one night tend to come back again and again due to the sense of community and healthy supportive challenge fostered by members of the program. "We even say excuse me when you are hit by a smash!!"
The recreation staff coordinates this program. The program facilitator is Doug Deyoe at ddvader@aol.com.
This activity is held from 7:00 to 9:30 p.m. at the Corey Gym, accessible from the lower Church Street entrance of the Carlisle, MA Middle School. The address of the Middle School is 88 School Street, but please use the Church Street entrance and parking lot.
This is an adult activity of the Carlisle Recreation Department, but players under 16 are permitted when accompanied by an adult and with the permission of the coordinator. Players of all levels are welcome, from beginner/recreational to experienced/advanced. Peer instruction and support are offered. The club continues to invite all persons who have an interest in learning to play and those more advanced who are willing to mentor newer players. Doubles play is primary and singles are available if no one is waiting. The emphasis is to get exercise and have fun and to have an enjoyable and challenging time in a supportive setting, while improving skills and techniques.
Bring your own racquet, or use one of the club racquets. Plastic birds are supplied, and you are welcome to bring and use feathered birds. There are six courts with painted lines. The ceiling is high, with good visibility. Play is primarily doubles, but singles play is possible when space permits.
This club is uses the 21-point rally scoring system for all games.
There are two options for paying fees:
You may sign up with a "full registration" for a season of several evenings of play (Fall, Winter, Spring, or Winter/Spring), and registration is required for this. You may register in person at the Recreation Department, by mail, by fax, by phone at 978-369-9815 or, on-line at http://www.CarlisleMA.gov/registration using MC, Visa, or Discover cards.
You may pay a $12 (exact change please) per night walk-in playing fee, subject to space availability. Although drop-ins are welcomed, on a crowded night, preference may be given to those with full registrations. Exact amount is required, and you are requested to fill out a registration form at least once during a season.
When there is non-dry weather, all players are strongly urged to bring a separate pair of footwear for play.
